WE NEED HELP!

Bikesummer is less than two months away, and there is a lot to get done. We need as much help from people as possible to ensure that the festival runs smoothly. You can volunteer as much or as little time as you want.

How can you help?

ORGANIZE YOUR OWN EVENT

The Bikesummer festival is built around events. The more we can have, the better. Events can be as simple as a ride through Stanley Park, or as compliated as a week-long camping trip to the interior. If you want to organize something, then go to the event form where you can submit your idea! Otherwise, we already have a bunch of things going on that need help with organizing. Please email us if you can assist with any of the following:

  • Bike Art Show (lots of amazing bike art out there already and more will certainly be created)
  • Bike Film Nights (we have access to many hours of marvellous bike films--need organiser of location, equipment...)
  • Street Reclaiming (collaborating with pedestrian and bus rider's groups)
  • A Freedom Machine, Women and the Wheel Event
  • Bike Art Creation Day
  • Bike Messenger Union Organizing Event
  • All-day Bike Building Workshop
  • Unicycle Event
  • Tour of Mural and Community Gardens
  • Bike-Lane Building Workshop
  • Youth Events
  • Squirtgun Ride
  • Bike Food Cook-off
  • Naked Ride and Body Painting

    FESTIVAL ORGANIZATION

We already have a core group of festival organizers, but still need extra hands for some of the administrative tasks. Again, you can commit as much or as little time as you want. Please email us if you can help with any of these things:

  • FUNDRAISING, FINANCES
  • BILLETING (to connect visitors with houses, couches, floors, backyards...)
  • PROMOTING BIKESUMMER (we have some designs for stickers, posters, t-shirts)
  • WORLDWIDE CRITICAL MASS FORUM
  • TRANSPORTATION FORUM (involving all the cycling and transportion groups)
  • PERMANENT BIKESUMMER MURAL on a Vancouver bikeroute
  • MUSIC to be hooked up with specific events (we know of some interested musicians)
