8/21 Pedal Powered Business

Tonight's pedal-powered businesses slide shows and presentations, although not well advertised and a late-comer event, had a good crowd of 20-30 and about five presentations. Really nice. And the food!!!! Oh my word, it was lovely. One of the businesses is a bicycle catering business, all organic, reusable steel containers, vegan ,and SF based. Stefan Lynch, (415) 820-3237, and the soon- to-be-ready web site, http://www.food-chain.net/ which is already well developed. Fancy stuff! E-mail: chef@food-chain.net.

Another was the much-lauded Bicycle Telephone Repair Man, Allan Van Tress, (510) 655-5419. He actually put on the whole event in his backyard, a lovely set-up on newly depaved green space.

Another business was the Terra Nova "tread lightly" ecological gardeners. Impressive, how their search for really doing their business well lead them to go from two trucks to one truck and about six great bikes and trikes and bike pickup trucks, more employees, and more bioregionalist decentralisation.

Pedal Express and a Pedicab operator (Bill Mitchell) also presented some great stuff.

Upstairs there was an impressive array of materials for starting a small business, including lots of stuff for ecological and bicycle businesses.

Below is some additional contact information for tonight's pedal-powered business presentations, in case anyone wants to follow up.
